About Laurie Ward

Laurie first became interested in massage while travelling in Thailand in 1991. After discovering Traditional Thai Massage, Laurie developed a deep respect for this unique form of bodywork, and spent time studying, in the north and south of the country. Upon returning to Canada, she continued her study of massage at the Shiatsu School of Canada, graduating with honours in 1995 from the 2200-hour diploma program. Since then, Laurie has dedicated herself to the practice of Shiatsu and Thai Massage.

Laurie is a member of the Shiatsu Association of Ontario. Members of this organization are the most highly trained shiatsu therapists in North America.

Laurie's thorough and attentive approach, combined with her friendly interpersonal style is a draw for her many clients. Her treatments are deep yet gentle and are continually adapted to help her clients target and treat their changing conditions and health needs.

In May 2000, Laurie was recognized with a Flare Magazine National Volunteer Award for her work as a shiatsu therapist to the clients at Sistering, a drop-in-centre for homeless and low-income women.
